How to Look up Bible Verses

Turn to the front of the Bible. It will have a list of book titles and the pages they begin on. For example, the book of John starts on page 1330 in my Bible. Every Bible will be different. So if I'm looking up John 3:16, I would turn to page 1330. The 3 would be the third chapter. The 16 would be the verse in that chapter. If you look in chapter 3, you will see small (tiny) numbers throughout the chapter. These are the verses. Try it. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

There is an excellent website www.biblegateway.com. It has several translations of the Bible, a concordance (a book that looks up every verse in the Bible with a chosen word in it) and several other reference books.
